Service of Rededication for Chapters (Many
Chapters on or about St. Andrew's Day attend a regular Church service in a body
and reaffirm their fidelity to the objectives and disciplines of the Brotherhood,
rededicating themselves to the work of their parish chapter The following order
of service is suggested for this purpose. If this order is used at Morning Prayer
it is suggested that it come immediately after the offertory, or if at the Holy
Communion, immediately before the offertory. The rector or vicar will determine
the place that it is used in the service. Suggested hymns from the Hymnal 1982:549,

(all standing): The Brotherhood of St. Andrew
is a ministry to men and youth dedicated to the spread of Christ's kingdom by
means of prayer, study, and service. The discipline
of prayer is to pray daily for the spread of Christ's kingdom, especially among
men and youth, and for God's blessing on the labors of the Brotherhood. The
discipline of study is to study the Holy Scriptures regularly and the teachings
of the Church to attain a better understanding of how to follow Christ and bring
others into his kingdom. The discipline of
service is to make continuous efforts, week by week, to bring others nearer to
Christ through his Church. CELEBRANT:

Almighty God, who has given you the will to do these things, strengthen you so
that he may finish the work which he has begun in you; through Jesus Christ, our

Let us pray. Almighty God, look with favor
upon these persons who have now reaffirmed their commitment to follow Christ and
to serve in his name in the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Give them courage, patience,
and vision; and strengthen them in their Christian vocation of witness to the
world, and of service to others; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |
